The Lapeer Steelers Youth Football and Cheer is a non-profit, volunteer organization offering youth a program teaching self-worth, cooperation, goal setting and individual responsibility. We have been providing youth football and cheer in the Lapeer area for children ages 8 to 14 since 1980. We are a proud member of the Northern Youth Football League - NYFL. Home fields are Lapeer East and West High School.

Academic All-American Program

It has become a NYFL tradition to recognize academic achievement. At halftime of each divisional Super Bowl, student-athletes are recognized from each franchise. The recognition is to remind everyone that success on the field is secondary to what is achieved in the classroom. Each student had a B- average or better and in 2009 over one thousand Cheerleaders and Football players qualified.
